Patio shades for homes & residential buildings

Motorized patio screens for covered patios, poolside living spaces, and shared residential terraces. Start with the sun, the view, and how you want to use the space.

More room for life outdoors.

Covered patios & porches

Filter afternoon sun and glare without making the patio a permanently enclosed room. Raise the screens when you want an open view.

Poolside living

Choose mesh around visibility, shade, and privacy. Privacy changes with lighting; a solar screen is not a guaranteed nighttime privacy barrier.

Residential buildings

Shared lounges and apartment terraces need a coordinated approach to appearance, building approvals, access, and who controls the screens.

Plan the details before the installation.

A project review connects the right system to the opening, the people using it, and the way the property operates. Final suitability, specifications, and scope are confirmed before ordering.

  • Sun exposure and opening dimensions
  • Mounting surfaces, housings, and side-track clearance
  • Fabric openness, views, and privacy expectations
  • Power location and available control options
  • HOA or building approvals before installation

Open views. Filtered sunlight.

One patio. Two ways to enjoy it.

The details make the difference

A better-informed shade decision.

The right screen starts with your opening—not a one-size-fits-all promise. Understand the fabric, installation, and operating limits before choosing a system.

01Fabric & openness

More open mesh generally favors outward views and airflow. Denser mesh offers more solar filtering, with a different balance of light and visibility. Compare physical samples at your patio.

02Housings & tracks

The top housing stores the screen when raised. Side tracks guide it when lowered. Surface-mounted and recessed approaches depend on the structure and selected system.

03Motors & controls

Wall switches, remotes, grouped operation, sensors, and connected controls vary by product. Confirm power needs and compatibility rather than assuming every system includes them.

04Wind & weather

A patio screen is not a storm shelter or a weatherproof room. Follow the selected manufacturer’s wind limits and retraction instructions, especially before severe weather.

05Care & access

Keep tracks clear of debris and follow the fabric’s cleaning guidance. Leave access to the motor and housing for servicing, and avoid operating a screen against obstructions.

06Awnings vs. screens

Awnings shade from above; vertical screens filter sun at the sides of an opening. Louvered pergolas are structural roof systems. Our focus is patio shade installation—not manufacturing or building pergola roofs.
